BHI is “a non-profit organization with a mission…to eradicate cervical cancer and improve women’s health in Latin America,” according to the organization’s website. Founded in 2006 by Dr. Cremer, the organization not only screens women for cervical cancer but also teaches other doctors and medical workers, often local natives themselves, low-cost methods of treating the disease in these poor areas.
Dr. Cremer’s talk will address the effects of cervical cancer on rural El Salvador and the work that BHI has done to counteract the disease.
The talk will take place at 7:00 PM on April 11 in Thompson Biology, Room 112.
